Experience how comfortable and joyous backbends can be when you practice them with a long, relaxed spine. This class starts with preparatory poses that teach alignment principles from toes to head, moves to gradually increasing supported backbends that use props (blocks and blankets) to put firm, pleasant traction on the vertebral column, builds to two free standing backbends - Chatush Padasana (Four Footed Pose) and the beginnings of Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow Pose), and ends with soothing recovery poses. The integrated asana sequence leaves you feeling clear and peaceful.
