This class takes inspiration from artist Michael Grab, who meditatively balances rocks to build beautiful, seemingly impossible towers. To create these amazing works, he said, "I make really tiny micro-adjustments until I feel that very thin thread of balance go through the rocks. I call that the Zero Point." We can feel a similar thread going through our stacked bones in our asana practice, not just in postures such as Vrksasana (Tree) and Sirsasana (Headstand) that first come to mind when we think of balancing poses, but in a wide range of standing and seated poses that suddenly become quiet and profound when we meticulously align ourselves. Feeling the Zero Point can be thought of as Citta Vrtti Nirodha - stillness of mind. Join us to find it in a well rounded practice of standing, seated and inverted poses, with the option of supported alternatives for those who want or need them.
